Hello, world-wide web.

Hello. Welcome to this online journal for online apocalyptic comedy-drama conspiracy ‘THE END IS NIGEL’. This is a project I am really looking forward to writing but will also be my first delve into producing. Fingers crossed.

Already I’m feeling slightly dishonest about this whole blogging thing as these are actually just thoughts typed into a word document until all our websites are built. But, for the sake of my sanity, I’m going to pretend that I am actually blogging live right now…just with no audience. Were I ever to start an actual blog, I’m sure this would be the case anyway.

While this project develops, I thought it would be interesting - if only to me - to see how the idea changes and how the form of an ‘internet narrative’ actually shapes the story (this seems easier than me trying to use a story to reshape  and change the internet, after all). As a great deal of this project can be ’written’ in post-production, it would be useful to chart the paths not traveled as budgets, logistics or me-realising-an-idea-just-won’t-work affects ‘The End is Nigel’. 

As the ‘The End is Nigel’ is a prototype/pilot for this project and very much an experiment for me in trying to write an online narrative, I am interested in ’showing my workings’ as we move along. Especially as this experiment could still fail and/or explode.

So, thanks for reading. By the time this journal is online, this whole ‘The End is Nigel’ pilot will now be finished and there on the internet. Hope it’s good. But, from where I am back in time, The End still seems a very long way off…
